The Himachal Pradesh High Court has ordered for a fresh status report on the facilities and infrastructure available in health centers in the state.
The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday, July 16, 2015, has directed the state principal secretary for health to file a fresh status report on the facilities and infrastructure available in health centers in the state. A division bench of Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed this order on a petition filed by advocate Komal Chaudhary. Chaudhary sought adequate medical infrastructure as per the Indian Public Health Standards and prayed to appoint adequate number of specialist doctors in all the health centers and hospitals in the state. Listing the matter for next hearing on August 4, 2015, the high court sought details about the officers entrusted with the job of ensuring availability of life-saving drugs and infrastructure development work.
The division bench also directed the secretary health of the central government and the Medical Council of India (MCI) to file reply and to indicate what steps have to be taken to provide assistance to the state for the improvement of health services.
