The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare’s Health Education Unit (HEU) in Swaziland has launched a unique HIV/AIDS prevention program for more than 40 communities in the country.
The campaign called 'STEPS for the Future' attempts to get the people thinking abut HIV AIDS through documentaries. National Emergency Response Council on HIV and AIDS (NERCHA) Public Relations Officer Nana Mdluli said the campaign would kick off on Monday."SWANNEPHA members will play an integral role in the campaign, serving as facilitators for discussions. Once the documentaries are screened at a local school or clinic, a trained SWANNEPHA member will initiate discussion and provide direction and guidance to the audience," she added.
Local organizations including the HEU and SWANNEPHA are also playing a role in the program, while the International Video Fair (IVF) is also assisting the venture.
