Postmenopausal women with vasomotor symptoms (VMS) - which include hot flashes and night sweats - are more likely to have lower lumbar and total hip bone mineral density than those without VMS, suggests a new research.
Researchers at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) have revealed that their findings are based on an analysis of data for 2,213 women between the ages of 42 and 52.The researchers say that the main objective for which the study was carried out was to see whether women with VMS had lower bone mineral density.
A research article on the study has been published in the journal Menopause.
