Studies have clearly shown that increased levels of IGF-1 will increase substantially risks of breast, colon and prostate cancer.
Researchers in Chicago, say human growth hormone is a disaster waiting to happen. They say the hormone which is naturally produced by the body -- increases levels of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). Their concern is what those raised levels of IGF-1 can do.
Specialists say there are benefits of boosting low human growth hormone levels in older people. They include increased muscle mass, increased bone density, and decreased body fat. Many users have also claimed it has improved their skin, vision, memory and arthritic pain. But specialists say the links to cancer are much too strong to be recommending that people use human growth hormone and researchers feel it’s being prescribed to too many people who don’t really need it.
