Incidents Involving Bath Salts are Rising Steadily
Medical experts in the United States are worried over the huge increase in the number of incidents involving bath salts after the American Association of Poison Control Centers revealed that such incidents have shot by 10 times so far this year.
Just over 300 incidents were reported in 2010 but the first half of 2011 has seen a massive 3,470 incidents so far. The bath salts are legal in half of the United States even though they have been banned in the remaining 25 states.

Doctors reveal that the bath salts trigged psychotic behavior among the users who are using it in increasing quantities in order to achieve cocaine-like high. Other symptoms include elevated heart rates, elevated blood pressure and temperatures and unresponsiveness towards even the strongest sedatives.

Schuylkill Medical Center’s Dr Jeffrey Narmi said that many patients who have been admitted to the hospital were shifted to psychotic ward. “There were some who were admitted overnight for treatment and subsequently admitted to the psych floor upstairs. These people were completely disconnected from reality and in a very bad place”, he said.
