Reports from seven national surveys conducted for the past 15 years showed a great increase in BMI among Canadian people.
Researchers Peter Katzmarzyk and Caitlin Mason from Queens University, Canada has reported in the Canadian Medical Association Journal the data analyzed from seven national surveys which reported the obesity// and overweight in Canadian public. The data was collected from reports which were published between 1985 to 2003. The study showed an increasing trend of Body Mass Index in Canadian people which has shown a shift in BMI index from Class II to Class III (BMI more than 40) increased by 1.3 percent. But the current study has showed a great increase in obesity percentage in 15 years the researchers feel that these increase in obesity is less than American BMI.
