In New South Wales there is an increase in the number of cases reported with respect to diseases like bird flu and foot and mouth disease .

The Department of Primary Industry in last week tested the dead poultry food on the property in Wentworth and found that the cause of death was due to the deadly avian influenza virus.

Then the property was immediately cleaned and cordoned off. Bruce Christie the chief vet of New South Wales said that than are more than 70 cases reported in the last month alone.

It is a routine procedure every year that a number of vets are posted to different areas to check the cause of the dead poultry.

Usually the number of cases will be around 30-40 but in the previous month it had exceeded 70. This is due to the fact that there is a rise in the spread of the bird flu and foot and mouth disease.

There is a special emergency contact line which takes calls regarding this issue. This hotline has received more than 70 calls in the last month alone.

Measures are being taken to control the spread of bird flu and foot and mouth disease and prevent loss of lives.
