The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, underwent surgery for cataract removal in the right eye at the Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Singh, 75, underwent an intra-ocular lens implantation after a brief surgical procedure. He has since returned home.Doctors said he could resume normal work from Monday.
Earlier, the Prime Minister underwent prostrate surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi, on September 16, 2007.
In October 2005, he underwent a successful surgery on his right hand at the same hospital.
The operation was carried out to relieve pressure on a nerve in his wrist.
