Individual’s Heartbeat Signature may Help Gauge Personality
German researchers suggest that an individual’s personality can be gauged by his heartbeat by studying the heartbeat “signature” or the wave patterns formed due to the heart’s electrical activity.
The researchers have come up with a set of signatures which portray different personality traits. For example people whose heartbeat signatures score higher on tests of neuroticism are more prone to depression and self-destructive behavior.

Researchers from Freie Universitat Berlin roped in more than 425 students between 18 and 33 years of age to identify different heartbeat signatures. “We hope that with this method, we have found something that is perhaps more accurate, and more relatable, than many other measures of personality”, lead researcher Stefan Koelsch said.
