Indonesia to increase AIDS awareness

World AIDS day (1st December) may bring new hope to Indonesia as it promises to fight spread of HIV.

Peter Pilot of UNAIDS expressed concerns over the alarming increase of spread of HIV infection in Asia and in particularly Indonesia. He said that Indonesia has to face the AIDS effectively to prevent it from becoming an epidemic. The spread of HIV in Asis has become very high as one in five new HIV infections are from the Asian subcontinent.

Inodenisa, which is a muslim country with conflicts over the use of condoms the control of the spread of the communicable disease AIDS is not possible. Indoensia has an estimated 90,000 to 130,000 people infected with HIV.

Pilot is happy about the President of Indonesia interest to increase awareness and control AIDS in Indonesia and he will be celebrating World AIDS day in Indonesia who is on a four day visit to that country.

Medindia on AIDS: AIDS is the clinical manifestations or disease symptoms occurring due to HIV infection. Immune compromised stage of the infected person manifests this end stage.
