An infant who underwent 16 complex surgeries immediately after being born following a complex birth in Dubai finally returned home after one year and two months.

She was then shifted to a hospital in Mumbai where she went a number of complex surgeries including Tracheostomy, surgery for closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) and a heart surgery.
Though she still has to be kept on ventilator for at least three hours a day, Ria finally made her way home one year and two months after she was born. “After the PDA closure surgery was performed, Ria's condition improved significantly, and she even gained some weight. She could even be taken off the ventilator for longer durations”, the cardiac surgeon at Lilavati Hospital, Dr Suresh Joshi said.
