A new report has revealed that cancer and cardiac screening should be provided at the work place itself to avoid employees from falling sick.
A new report has revealed that cancer and cardiac screening should be provided at the work place itself to avoid employees from falling sick. A leading health think tank also suggests that people in Britain should also be able to register with a GP surgery near work rather than home.
The ideas are in a report by 2020 health, which reveals that the country loses 175 million working days to ill health every year.
A poll for 2020health found that 73 per cent of people believe bosses have a responsibility to promote good health among staff.
"The British workforce overwhelmingly expects employers to take the health of their workers seriously, and our report offers a number of practical steps that would promote exactly this," the Daily Express quoted 2020health's CEO Julia Manning as saying.
"Our report looks at two problems; long-term absence from work and the economic costs of general sick days. Our proposals would go a long way towards repairing both the nation's health and its economic fortunes," she said.
