A recent research from UK has pointed out that increase in intake of calcium may not have a beneficial effect in reducing risk of osteoporosis in later life. Though moderate amounts of calcium are required for the body, increasing the intake of calcium to reduce the risk of bone disease may not actually produce the desired effect.
'The highest quintile of calcium intake did not further reduce the risk of fractures of any type, or of osteoporosis,' researchers said.
