Top myths about Irish whiskey makes one refrain from indulging it because of all the stories surrounding it, but most of these are far from the truth.
Jack McGarry from New York's acclaimed The Dead Rabbit has revealed that the belief that Jameson is Catholic and Bushmills is Protestant is absolutely unfounded, the Huffington Post reported.

McGarry, who was named 'International Bartender of the Year' at last July's Tales of the Cocktail conference, said that the myth that Scotch is better than Irish whiskey is false and it entire depends on personal preference.

Its is believed that Irish whiskey is only good for shots, but the truth is that it also works in a number of cocktails and can be sipped neat or on the rocks.

Earlier, drinkers felt that all Irish whiskies taste the same, but over the years, Irish single malts have started featuring very different flavor profiles, like Knappogue Castle and Tyrconnell.

Also, the versatility of Irish whiskies makes it the perfect pick for the upcoming St. Patrick's Day.
