In a goodwill gesture during times of hostilities, an Israeli medical centre has offered free treatment to Lebanese children in need.
The Chaim Sheba Medical Centre in Israel announced that the its Edmond and Lily Safra Children's Hospital has been directed to extend services to Lebanese citizens."We do not distinguish between patients of any creed or nationality. In general, the Safra Children's Hospital is open to patients from across Israel, the Mediterranean region, the Palestinian Authority and the Arab world", Prof Zeev Rotstein, CEO and Director of the centre told Israel 21C.
More than 15 per cent of the cardiac surgery and cancer patients at the pediatric hospital are said to be children from abroad, including the Palestinian Authority.
