The AIDS prevention and control society in Jammu and Kashmir has revealed that the number of HIV cases in the state has dipped marginally.

"As per the survey conducted by Jammu and Kashmir aids prevention and control society mass awareness has resulted in the reduction of AIDS graph to 0.3 per cent in high risk groups and 0.02 per cent in general population in the state", the Director AIDS Society J&K M A Wani said.He added that 92 percent of the areas in the state had been brought under the umbrella of the awareness program. Additionally some 72,000 people have voluntarily got themselves tested against AIDS.
