Speaking at a World Heart Day function organized by the Indian Heart Association, Karnataka at Visvesvaraya museum, the minister said he would consult with the home minister and health minister in order to re-impose this ban.In 2006, junk food was banned within a radius of 100 meters of schools. However soft drink companies took the matter to court where they lost their case. Still implementation has been an issue and it will be interesting to see how the government handles the situation this time.
