India has now become a testing ground for nurses who are bound to the US. This follows intense lobbying on the part if the Indian State Government of Kerala. The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) may be conducted in Kerala by the US.
The NCSBN is a not-for-profit organization, whose membership comprises the boards of nursing in the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five US territories namely American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.George Abraham, President of the Houston unit of the Non-Resident Keralite Affairs Department (Norka), said NCSBN had announced last week a list of new countries where the nursing test would now be held. The other countries where the testing will be held are Germany, Mexico, Canada, India, Japan, Australia, and Taiwan.
Outside the US, the NCLEX examinations are currently held only in London, Seoul and Hong Kong. The testing center is likely to be located in the offices of the Root-Norka, which looks after the welfare of non-resident Keralites.
