According to the recent tests conducted by the Analytical Services Tasmania King Island's water supply was found to be potable.
Tasmanian Greens conducted tests which showed high content of lead in the Upper Grassy Dam waters.This was followed by testing done by the council which found no problem with the water.
It was tested for 12 heavy metals and the results were announced with days of testing. It was found that the water had metal contents well within Australian drinking water guidelines.
The samples which were tested by the Department of Public Health did not have any lead content. King Island Mayor Charles Arnold assured the people of Grassy that the water is pure and safe to drink.
