Kirin Develops a Cure for Bird Flu

Kirin brewery in Japan has developed in association with the US subsidiary a new antibody which will completely destroy the H5N1 virus of bird flu.

The spokesman for Kirin Brewery Co. Ltd., Japan on Monday told that its US subsidiary Gemini Science Inc has identified an antibody that can prevent and cure bird flu.

Kirin Brewery Co. Ltd., Japan is the second-largest brewer in Tokyo.

It is planning for a partnership with its U.S. subsidiary but also mentioned that this drug will not be available immediately in the commercial market.

After the press release regarding the cure for bird flu the company’s shares increased by 7.1%.

The deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu has already taken 71 lives across Asia and Europe. It mainly affects the poultry but in such cases man to man transmissions is also seen.

Hence an urgent need for preventing the spread of bird flu is necessary.

Measures to control bird flu and likewise prevent the spread of it to man is also a requisite. Stock market is closely watching the latest developments regarding the treatment facilities for bird flu.

Nisshinbo Industries Inc. a textile industry owner told the press that his company in association with the Japanese university has developed a new material to raze bird flu.

Hence this fabric could be used for mask, clothing by health care officials and other people who are required to work closely with the deadly virus. This fabric can also be used in poultry farms to prevent the spread of infection from one bird to another.
