Lazy Larry Brownies Under FDA Scanner
Popular snack cakes, Lazy Larry has once again come into the Food and Drug Administration’s radar after the health regulator warned its manufacturer, HBB LLC that it will seize the stocks from the market unless they stop advertising the product.
Lazy Larry’s is a popular brand of brownies that are laced with melatonin. The FDA believes that melatonin, which regulates the sleep-wake cycle in the body, is not a safe food additive and has directed HBB LLC to stop advertising the product.

However the latest move by the FDA has not impressed HBB LLC with its CEO, Terry Harris stating that the cakes are being singled out by the FDA. “We are surprised that this produce continues to be singled out as it contains the same ingredients as many edible relaxation products on store shelves; these are melatonin, Valerian Root Extract, Rose Hips Extract, and Passion Flower”, he said.
