The agricultural property under the ownership of the health trust in the North West will be leased on rent in the following week and the cash so raised will be ploughed back to uplift healthcare services.

Foyle Health and Social Services Trust muster about £10,000 a year through the leasing of 60 acres of agricultural lands, in close proximity to the Gransha hospital.

Joanne Quinn, Head of Corporate Affairs at the Trust explained how the money earned from the rental of the land is utilized to improve patient healthcare services. She said, "The land-letting operation has been in operation for at least 27 years and it is a routine thing we do. There is a lot of agricultural land surrounding the Gransha and Stradreagh hospitals and obviously it is of no use to us. It is let every November and makes £10,000 for the Trust.”
