Leisure walks with low cardiovascular exercises work best for weight loss

Walking at a leisurely pace for a good distance along with some cardiovascular exercises work best for losing weight in obese people.

Researchers of Colorado University had found that slow paced walks can help obese people burn more calories than past faced walks they do to get into shape and lose some weight. The amounts of calories that get burned per pound of body weights remain same for obese people as for people with normal body weights. However, obese people walk differently when they are at leisure, with swinging their legs in wider arcs. This, when coupled with heavier legs and wider stances are carried on for a mile or two, exert less pressure on the legs and joints and prevent arthritis for heavy people. When they walk at a faster pace, as in walking for exercise, obese people tend to alter their postures and walk with straighter legs. This form of walking tends to conserve energy and hence in the process, people with normal body weights lose more eights in such walks when compared with obese people.
