85 percent of Pakistanis have never been to a library, reports Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan. Forty percent of the participants said they went to a library to study, 25 percent said they went for personal interest, 22 per cent said they went to find information on something, 11 per cent said they went to read the newspaper and 1 per cent cited other reasons, reports The Dawn.
One percent of the respondents did not give a reply.
The survey was carried out among a sample of 2679 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, last month.
