Even as traditional killer diseases such as cancer and various heart diseases are on the decline, a new class of diseases is on the rise that is directly linked to our lifestyle, a new report reveals.

According to latest data released by Health Profile of England report the number of deaths caused by circulatory disease annually fell by more than 50,000 from 2000 to 2008 while deaths due to cancer also decreased.

However deaths due to obesity-related diseases have risen sharply in the past decade, with England being the main culprit. The data reveals that England accounts for almost double the number of obesity-related diseases compared to France, Italy or Holland.

This has seen an increase of more than 30 percent in diabetes cases in the country while death caused by liver cancer has also increased by 12 percent. This data is actually reflective of worldwide rates as well.
