This is a classic example of “the blame game”. A retired doctor fond of gambling lost pounds 8million in a Las Vegas gambling spree. This is news yes but the bigger one is that he is putting the blame on a drug prescribed to treat his Parkinson's disease. Further more he is suing for his money back.
The name of this great man is Max Wells, 55, and he is claiming drugs giant GlaxoSmithKline had failed to warn patients its medicine Requip can cause compulsive behaviour. In addition he is also suing seven casinos he alleges encouraged him to blow his millions while aware he had the disease and was taking the drug.
In response to this GlaxoSmithKline said: "We'll investigate the allegations. We believe the drug is appropriately labeled."
