If you’re a loud snorer, then the chances of you suffering from strokes and heart diseases are higher than people who do not snore, say Hungarian scientists.
In a new study, the researchers claim that heavy snorers are 67 percent more likely to suffer strokes. The finding was based on the study, which interviewed more than 12,000 patients and claimed a strong link between loud snoring and both heart disease and strokes.
The estimates revealed that loud snorers had a 34 percent increased risk of having a heart attack, and a 67 percent greater chance of suffering a stroke as compared to rest of the population, reports BBC.
On the basis of the analyses, they concluded that heavy snorers were significantly more likely to have a heart attack or stroke compared to the rest of the population.
The researchers said that loud snoring with breathing pauses could be used to help identify people at risk from these diseases.
The data highlighted the fact that people who snore quietly had no increase in their risk of cardiovascular illness.
