Maggi Noodles Taken Off Shelves in Walmart India, Big Bazaar and Kendriya Bhandar
With popular retail chains like Big Bazaar and Kendriya Bhandar having withdrawn Maggi noodles from their stores, Walmart India also announced that this popular two-minute snack has been taken off their shelf from June 4, 2015, in view of food safety.
Walmart India vice president Rajneesh Kumar said, "We have withdrawn the Maggi two-minute noodles from our shelves across all 20 Best Price Modern Wholesale stores till further clarity from FSSAI and state food safety authorities. The recall was because of Walmart’s policy that required all their suppliers to have valid Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licenses. We have been in constant touch with our vendor partner Nestle, who we understand are working very closely with the authorities regarding sampling of Maggi two-minute noodles."
