Malaria Grips Jamaica, Nearly 160 Affected

Jamaica – In what is thought to be the first malarial outbreak in 40 years, health officials report that an estimated 160 people have come down with malaria.

No fresh cases of malaria have been reported further. Fortunately, the major resort locations are free of the infection.

Malaria, is notorious as one of the world‘s deadliest diseases, killing about 1 million children in the poor nations each year. The tropical climate in these countries is conducive for the mosquitoes to thrive and spread the disease.
