Mr. A, is certainly not ecstatic, though he has created a record of sorts. Doctors in England are at their wits end, with details of a man, now open for public consumption, disclosing the highest record ever of consuming 40,000 ecstasy pills in his life. Mr. A had absolutely no competition, as the second position for the’ecstacy’ record went to a certain person who was said to have consumed 2000 tablets.
Psychosomatics, a journal, has made these details public. Mr A, not too old at 37, had resorted to conjuring ecstasy, by consuming tablets meant for this purpose; He had infact started off with the tablets between the ages of 21 and 30. Initially he appeared to take a dose of tow tablets during the weekend, but later increased to almost 25 tablets a day.The doctors have written in the journal- to quote "After three episodes of 'collapsing' at parties, Mr A finally stopped his ecstasy use. For a few months, he felt as if he was still under the influence of it and suffered several episodes of tunnel vision. He eventually developed severe panic attacks, recurrent anxiety, depression, muscle rigidity, hallucinations and paranoid ideation. Although Mr A was able to fully understand the instructions given, his concentration and attention were so impaired that he was unable to follow the sequence of the tasks required.”
These findings only corroborate the restricted knowledge available about the repercussions of large and regular doses of ecstasy use.
