Many Young Brits Unaware About Childbirth Facts

A new survey has found that many young Britons are grossly unaware of childbirth facts. The survey of 2,000 Brits was commissioned on the occasion of the release of the romantic comedy Life As We Know It. It found that over 20% of 18 to 25-year-olds thought that pregnancy lasted one year, while 20% of the childless respondents said umbilical cord was a musical note.

Some 10% felt that eating red meat would influence the sex of the child, while 27% said they would opt for genetic engineering if it meant they would get a good-looking baby.

"The study would suggest that young British adults have a lot of faith in the speed of evolution, with babies walking and talking in their first year," relationship expert Tracey Cox said. "It's astonishing how innocent and gullible young adults are on the subject of babies, parenting and childbirth."

Some 58.33% of respondents said 28 was the best age to start a family, while 56% said having two children was optimal.
