Other attractions included on-the-spot contests, prizes for the oldest and youngest walkers, give-aways for the largest families. Around 5,000 school children, walking communities and people from colleges and corporate world participated.
The event aimed at educating people about the long-term benefits of walking, leading a healthy lifestyle and the benefits of including walk in the daily routine.
Max Bupa conducted a Walk for Health Survey 2014 and found out that regular walks help people restore their work-life balance, makes them calmer, happier and more positive towards life.
Vardhan appreciated the initiative and appealed to the people to make at least 30 minutes of daily walk a habit in their life. “To keep oneself healthy, walking is the easiest exercise. It is very important to reduce the disease burden of the whole world that has been caused due to physical inactivity,” he added.
