Many complaints about doctors in private practice were directed to the health services commissioner between 2000 and 2009, revealed a University of Melbourne study. The complaints were made against a group of nearly 100 doctors, mostly surgeons and psychiatrists with more than three decades of experience.
Researchers felt these problems need to be addressed without delay so that patients can regain trust in the healthcare system.
