Relaxation snacks are under fire in the United States after it was revealed that some of the popular products mix melatonin in cakes, brownies and cookies.

However with a number of popular snacks now including the drug in their products, the FDA has said that it has not approved melatonin as a food additive and could instigate regulatory action against the makers.
While the drug is relatively harmless when taken in small quantities, experts fear that eating large amount of products such as Lazy Cakes or Lulla Pies could lead to an increased amount of the drug in the body.
