Yaspal, milkman who lost a limb in road traffic accident gets Rs 15.33 lakhs as compensation
New India Assurance Company Limited was ordered to pay a compensation of Rs 15.33 lakhs to Yaspal – a 24 year old milkman, a resident of North Delhi. Dinesh Bhatt the presiding officer of MACT (Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal) said "The insurance company shall pay the compensation of Rs 15, 33,872 within one month to the petitioner,"
Prem Raj and Satender Tomar – owner and driver of the rashly driven car, hit Yaspal’s scooter and he was seriously injured.
He was rushed to the hospital and after treatment his left leg was amputated. Even though the car driver insisted that Yashpal was at fault as he was driving carelessly,The car was insured with New India Assurance Company Limited. The tribunal awarded the compensation to Yashpal after gauging the seriousness of his Injuries sustained in the road accident
