A Brit milkman delivered cannabis to old age pensioners during his routine rounds to help relieve them off their aches and pains, a court heard.

A British court recently heard the case of a milkman accused of delivering cannabis to old age pensioners during his routine rounds. His defense – it was to relieve his clients of their numerous aches and pains.

Robert Holding, of Burnley, Lancs, confessed possessing and supplying the Class C drug to his clients between April 1 and July 18 this year.

The 72-year-old, who used to store cannabis in an egg box making his usual rounds, gathered 17 customers by "word of mouth".

The milkman's police statement said the cannabis "was for elderly people who had aches and pains".

"You must understand these are serious offences and in my judgment the likely outcome is an immediate custodial sentence," the Sun quoted Judge Beverley Lunt as warning.

Holding was released on bail, and is due to be sentenced on February 6.
