Union Health Minister J P Nadda will reportedly make a statement in both Houses of Parliament regarding the swine flu situation in the country. Swine flu has led to the death of over 800 people across the country, whereas 14,000 people have been affected by the H1N1 virus.
The central government had placed an order to increase the national stock of diagnostic kits to test for the H1N1 virus. Health authorities are also procuring additional masks and doses of the anti-viral drug Oseltamivir.
Swine flu is caused by H1N1 virus and symptoms include high fever, headache, muscle pain, diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach pain and internal and external bleeding.
