Stress is as much talked about subject as sex is, perhaps vying with each other for all the attention. The multifaceted impact of stress is well known - responsible for many diseases, failed pregnancy, miscarriage, etc. Recently stress during pregnancy was thought to lead to a host of problems, like ADHD in the child and premature delivery. Now it is also thought to upset a woman’s memory and hormonal cycles.

Women seem to be twice inclined to suffer PSTD and depression, than men. Professor Simon Wessely, a psychiatrist at King’s College London, said “The main reason for the undeniable higher rates of stress in women was related to their different roles and pressures, but when men and women did the same job in the Civil Service, they had similar rates of psychological problems.”
