Multiple Sclerosis register which holds promise for sufferers of Multiple sclerosis (MS) is being launched in UK this week. This register is intended to have the complete details of victims of MS living in the UK. The register will have complete details of the victims, their time of diagnosis, symptoms and the services they received in order help understand the impact of this condition on the lives of its victims.
The project is led by researchers from Swansea University.
David Ford, director of health informatics at Swansea University’s College of Medicine and leader of the projects, said: “This will probably be the first time that the 100,000 or so people with MS will have a chance to get involved in research. Every individual with MS has an opportunity to take part in something that will benefit them. This will also allow other research studies to be set up into the best ways of supporting people with MS and hopefully even work to find a cure.”
