Navjot Singh Sidhu Hospitalized for Deep Vein Thrombosis

Navjot Singh Sidhu was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals Delhi last day with acute deep vein thrombosis, says a statement by Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.

Politician and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was admitted to a private hospital in New Delhi last day. According to sources, he is going through treatments for acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
  "Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals Delhi today evening with acute deep vein thrombosis. This is a life threatening condition if not treated on time. Mr Sidhu has been put on blood thinners and has been recovering well. His condition is said to be stable as of now," said a statement released by Indraprastha Apollo Hospital officials.

DVT is the formation of a blood clot within a deep vein, mainly in the legs. The early signs of the disease include swelling, pain, and tenderness, often in the legs.

Sidhu later on twitter said, "Down but Not Out! Life threatening disease (DVT) With God 's Grace will recover. Life is Fragile, handle with Prayer."

Sidhu has been a two-time former MP from Amritsar in Punjab and his International cricket career lasted from 1983 until 1999.
