The national capital to have 185 more dispensaries by 2010 to provide better healthcare to people
The national capital would have 185 more dispensaries by 2010 to provide better healthcare to people, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said Thursday.
She said 365 dispensaries were already functioning in the capital and 185 clinics would be set up soon to "enable the common men avail health facilities at their doorsteps".The chief minister said her government would procure 430 ambulances by 2008. Thirty ambulances would be made available every month. Currently, there are only 135 ambulances in Delhi.
Dikshit laid the foundation of a new 500-bed earthquake-resistant block at the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in east Delhi. The total cost of this project is Rs.610 million and would be completed by June 2009.
