New Device in Glucometer Data Management

A remarkable device that can transfer portable glucose meter readings to an online database has been developed by PositiveID Corporation.

It is remarkable in that it is a stand-alone device, not needing a computer or a cell phone to send the data. It automatically gets the information from data-capable glucometers for blood glucose readings and sends that information through wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) technology to an online database. If the patient desires it, the information can also be sent to doctors and caregivers at regular intervals.
