The emergence of new disease like SARS, Ebola, Marburg and Avian influenza can only be tackled if the situations are looked into from a global perspective.
In an article in the journal Foreign Affairs, the Wildlife Conservation Society of US have suggested that instead of tackling these epidemics from the standpoint of individual countries that are being affected, they should be tackled with a common health program for the entire world. The scientists of the department who had conducted the study had said that the emerging diseases have the common characteristics of rapidly mutating itself and being able to move across the globe with rapidity. People, transport and global animal trade are the reasons of spread of the virus that have started infecting the people from the animals.
Some of the recommendations of the committee in tackling the new disease are better observation of wildlife diseases to prevent their outbreaks, mking the animal traders responsible for preventing and controlling disease outbreaks, and establishing standard regulations across the world regarding animal trade that will stop the spread of the infection across the countries.
