New food guide for people fighting excess weight

The US department of Agriculture has recently unveiled a new guide to healthy eating that suggests different food charts for people with different needs.

Based on the idea that same diet pattern does not work on everybody, the new diet plan is based on age, sex and the level of activity. The new plan is called MyPyramid and it is basically an interactive website that gives you a diet chart once you feed in the required information.

The diet chart works very simply. It had divided the food ingredients into grains, dairy, vegetables, fruits, meat and beans, and fats, sugars and salt. Depending on the need of each individual the website may suggest the proportion of each of these ingredients the person should take daily in order to reach the normal weight category. Even the vegetables are categorized as dark green veggies, orange veggies, dry beans & peas, starchy veggies, and other veggies for easy understanding and identification with the vegetable group for common man.

Obesity is a growing problem world wide and the new diet plan is all set to restrict the health hazards of obesity in people by providing a personalized diet schedule.
