Instead of getting into “mid-life crisis” when they hit the 40s, more and more people are opting to learn new skills or hobbies, a new survey reveals.

According to the survey, more than 54 percent of the participants said that they have learnt a new hobby while around 56 percent started on a new exercise regimen. Less than 13 percent said that they wanted to undergo cosmetic surgery while shelling out the money on an expensive car did not feature at all.
“People entering their late 40s in 2011 are still only halfway through their working lives. These results show that, far from throwing money at new toys in a ‘quick fix’, many are channelling their energy towards making positive, fulfilling changes”, the managing director of Experian Interactive, Peter Turner said.
