Bangalore will have a new medical college from the next academic year according to Chief Minister, H D Kumaraswamy.
Bangalore will have a new medical college from the next academic year. Chief Minister, H D Kumaraswamy said on Wednesday that the proposed medical college will be set up at Beggars' Colony site on Magadi Road in addition to the new campus of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences.
The CM said, "The revenue department will identify alternate land for the Beggars' Colony." He added that all district hospitals in the state would be upgraded to 1,000 bed hospitals with medical colleges to be set up in private participation to them wherever possible.Kumaraswamy said, ‘The Belgaum and Mandya medical colleges are already under way. The Hassan and Shimoga colleges are to be set up this year. They are under litigation in the Supreme Court.'
He said, ‘The petition is on August 28, depending on this, action will be taken.’ The CM also mentioned proposals for the setting up of an IIT in the city.
