The makers of the 'Grindr', Nearby Buddy Finder have now launched 'Blendr', a casual sex App for straight people in Australia. Like Grindr, the new App utilises GPS to arrange casual sex encounters with people nearby.
'Grindr' had taken the gay community by storm earlier, but unlike the older version, the new App is being marketed for social networking and dating for the straight community, and also allows gay people to use it.
According to its blog, the app had earned over two million users across 192 countries, since its launch in 2009, news.com.au reported.
Along with location matching, the app also lets users filter people by common interests such as hobbies, hometown, profession, movies and political affiliation.
The "heat-map" uses Google maps to let users view the geographic area where the largest volume of people have checked in.
Similar to FourSquare, users can also check into nearby locations. They can also post status updates and images.
The app also lets you control who views your profile, and is available to sync with your Facebook, Twitter, and FourSquare account.
