The American Lung Association is planning to launch a new smoking cessation campaign called "Quitter in You." The main aim of the campaign is to bring about a change in the way Americans look at quitting smoking.
The campaign also aims to tell people that it is normal to have made multiple attempts to quit smoking."This new research shows that most people aren't successful the first time they try to quit smoking," said American Lung Association President and CEO Charles D. Connor. "But each time you try, you learn a little more about the quitter in you. You become a little wiser about what to do and not do the next time. With each attempt, the American Lung Association is here to provide expert support and proven resources that have helped more than one million people quit smoking for good."
The campaign also has a web site quitterinyou.org, which will guide people. The new campaign will be first launched in five pilot cities and will then be expanded throughout the country.
