Use of new club drugs among the youngsters has witnessed an upward trend, prompting the NHS to set up a specialist clinic to offer advice across the UK. Currently, the drug services cater to the treatment of cocaine and heroin addiction. They are not equipped to help those who use drugs such as mephedrone and ketamine.
The NHS Club Drug Clinic is an answer to tackle problems connected to the use of club drugs.
Doctors can now refer patients to the NHS Club Drug Clinic. Self-referrals will also be accepted.
It is hoped that this club will enhance the awareness about illegal club drug use and its deleterious effects on health.
