No Child’s Play – Food Allergy
With the rise in numbers of food allergy cases, Australia is now being dubbed as the world’s food allergy capital. Alarmingly, close to 10% of one year old children are victims of food allergy.
Food allergy cannot be taken lightly. It can be life threatening if the child’s airway swells up due to allergic reactions which can cause the child to choke, a condition medically known as anaphylaxis.

The ones that can prove fatal in the absence of medical assistance are peanut and tree nut allergies as they prolong into adulthood.

The demand for food allergy specialists in Australia has risen considerably and allergy clinics are overloaded.
